About this work
A huge rat-like creature with human-like clawed hands crouches at right, its bulk merging with a cluster of angled security cameras that hang and recede into the background at left. In the foreground a man lies on his back, mouth open in terror, his head near a curved metal tube or hose that loops from the creature's direction toward his face.
A flat, saturated red ground sets off the dense black-and-white graphite rendering of fur, claws, and camera housings, built up through heavy cross-hatching. The stark red-black-white palette and the fusion of animal menace with mechanical surveillance produce an intense, nightmarish sense of exposure and helplessness.
